Dr. Cindy Spicker is Retiring
|
|
|
|
After 35 years of caring for children and families, I will be retiring from pediatric practice on July 1, 2026, with a full and grateful heart. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to watch generations of children grow and to share in so many meaningful moments with their families.
I feel especially fortunate to have spent 31 wonderful years at Pediatric Associates of NKY, working alongside compassionate colleagues who truly feel like family. Together, we have shared a common mission of providing the best possible care for our patients and community.
The relationships built over the years—from caring for newborns to seeing them return as parents themselves—are memories I will always treasure. I am also grateful for the opportunity to mentor young people as they began their journeys into health care.
Thank you to the families who trusted me with their children’s care, to my colleagues for their friendship, and to my husband and three children for their unwavering support. I leave this chapter with deep gratitude and carry these memories with me always.
Fondly,
CINDY SPICKER

Teen Visits
We love seeing our teen patients gain independence by coming to the office without a parent or guardian. We ask that you send them with their current insurance card and a form of payment to help their visit go smoothly. This helps us check them in quickly and avoid any delays in care.

Myth of the Month: “Raw Milk Is Better Than Pasteurized Milk”
|
|
|
|
Raw (unpasteurized) milk is sometimes marketed as a more “natural” or more nutritious alternative to pasteurized milk. But the idea that raw milk is healthier doesn’t hold up well when you look at safety and nutrition evidence.
What pasteurization means: Pasteurization is a process in which milk is heated to a specific temperature for a specific amount of time and then rapidly cooled in order to kill harmful bacteria and reduce the risk of foodborne illness.

Influenza Season is in Full Swing
We are seeing many cases of influenza illness both nationally and locally. We encourage everyone who is eligible to receive a flu vaccine. Influenza vaccination remains the most important tool to prevent serious illness, hospitalization and death from seasonal influenza. Office visits can be scheduled if you are concerned your child might have early influenza symptoms and would like to discuss treatment options.
For more information on seasonal flu, check out our

Credit Card on File:
We encourage you to have a credit card on file with our office. Keeping a credit card on file helps us keep billing simple, accurate, and predictable for your family. It allows us to handle copays, deductibles, and balances after insurance processes without sending repeated statements or making follow-up calls. That means fewer surprises, fewer bills in the mail, and more time for us to focus on caring for your child instead of chasing paperwork. Cards are stored securely and are only charged when a balance is due, with notification provided. This is now standard practice in most medical offices and helps keep costs down for everyone. Please contact our billing department or visit our
website
to complete this process if you have not within the last year.
