This month we celebrate 10 years of service with Brandon Ervin, our IT Manager! He keeps things running smoothly with our IT systems, from phones, to hardware, to our electronic health record system. Brandon's phone extension is the most well known around the office because we can count on him to troubleshoot nearly any technology situation and help us with solutions. Brandon lives in Florence KY with his wife and 4 children. We are so very thankful for his efforts in keeping us on track at all of our locations!
Congratulations to Lori Beal on her 10 year Anniversary with Pediatric Associates!
It is hard to believe she has been with us for 10 years. Lori keeps us laughing with her great phrases and stories of her animals. Every day she works, she has something new to tell us and we have all learned a lot about cows, chickens, and goats, and horses. It is such a pleasure to come to work and be with someone who always smiles, keeps us laughing and shows kindness to all. If you have called the nurse phone room looking for advice, or just need some paperwork or a resource you have probably talked with Lori.

Pediatric Associates Doctors Continue to Educate the Next Generation of Physicians
Pediatric Associates doctors have long been committed to educating the next generation of physicians. With the expansion of the University of Kentucky Medical School to have a campus at NKU, Drs Voet and MacKay have been working with students from the NKU campus. Recently, Dr. Brown, Dr. Schaffeld, and Dr. Warrick were appointed to be faculty for the UK Medical School NKU campus as well. Over the coming months or years, you may see the 5 of them occasionally have a medical student rotate with them.
Several of our providers also continue to host UC medical students and Cincinnati Children's residents, which we have done for many years.
We thank you in advance for welcoming the students to our offices and allowing them to learn from your visits at Pediatric Associates.

Medication Prescribing After Hours
Pediatric Associates has always and will continue to remain committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. We understand children often fall ill at in-opportune times, such as while families are traveling or over weekends or holidays. While our providers are always happy to speak with families during after-hours about urgent or emergent concerns, we likely will not be able to prescribe medications such as antibiotics. Many illnesses present with nonspecific and/or overlapping symptoms, therefore the best medical practice is often to examine children & establish an accurate diagnosis prior to determining an appropriate treatment course and/or prescribing medication. We hope our families continue to understand and appreciate this approach to providing a high standard of care.

Swim Safety
As we dive into the summer season, it's the perfect time for fun at the pool! However, ensuring your child's safety around water is paramount. Here are some key safety tips to keep in mind:
• Supervision is Key: Always keep a close watch on your children when they are in or near water. Avoid distractions like phone calls or reading.
• Swimming Lessons: Enroll your children in swimming lessons. Knowing how to swim can significantly reduce the risk of drowning.
• Pool Fencing: Ensure that your pool has a four-sided fence with a self-closing, self-latching gate to prevent unsupervised access.
• Life Jackets: Use life jackets for younger children or inexperienced swimmers, especially when boating or in deeper water.
• CPR Training: Learn CPR and ensure that those who care for your children do as well. In an emergency, immediate CPR can save a life.
• Hydration and Sunscreen: Keep your kids hydrated and apply waterproof sunscreen to protect them from sunburn and dehydration.
By following these simple precautions, you can have a safe and enjoyable summer for your family. Have a fun and safe swimming season from all of us here at PANK!
