Keeping Kids Active in Winter

We asked a few of our providers for advice on keeping kids moving even when the weather isn’t favorable. Here are their answers:
From Dr. Spicker: “Stay active and have fun inside with Cosmic Kids Yoga!
Bundle up and take a walk in your neighborhood!”
From Dr. Hsu: “Too cold to play outside?...turn on your favorite tunes and have a dance-off!!!”
From Dr. Voet: “Dress warm and see a different perspective on your favorite trail in winter! Also,
“The Cincinnati Zoo is less crowded in winter and has plenty of indoor exhibits to warm up in
along the way.”
From Dr. MacKay: “Keep those hats & gloves in easy-to-reach baskets by the door so kids can
grab them & head outside without much hassle. If outside isn’t an option, play balloon tennis:
Use chairs or a couch as the net, a balloon as a ball & make a paddle (Popsicle stick attached to
a paper plate) or use your hand.”
From Dr. Cavallo: “Check out our website–it has resources for indoor and outdoor activities
including a guide to local parks, exercise videos, Girls on the Run, and Clever Crazes for Kids.”
