Saturdays and Behavioral Health After 5pm We are happy to be able to provide care on Saturdays and after 5pm. Starting in April you may see on your bill a charge 99051. This is for service(s) provided in the office during regularly scheduled evening, weekend, or holiday office hours. This will apply to our behavioral health appointments scheduled at 5 pm or later during the week and our Saturday office hours. This fee is billed to your insurance and the standard co-pays and deductibles apply.
Patient Portal Messaging During office hours we are happy to have our clinical team available to take calls and answer questions. Sometimes these non-urgent questions come up outside of office hours or the question is one that does not require an immediate answer. When this happens you can now send us clinical questions via the patient portal. These messages will only be responded to during office hours so they are not for urgent issues. Some things we may be able to answer in a message and some we may give you a call to discuss. This is just one more way for us to help partner in the health of your child. If you do not already have a patient portal set up and want to set it up please follow theseinstructions and linkson our website.
Flu Vaccines Still Available We continue to offer flu vaccines for those that need a second dose or have not gotten vaccinated yet this year. Flu is decreasing in the area but we are still seeing positive cases. A little protection may save you and your little ones from getting sick this Spring.
COVID Vaccines for 2024 The monovalent (one strain) COVID vaccine is available in our office. This vaccine replaces the previous bivalent vaccine. We have the Moderna brand which is approved for ages 6 months and older. We expect that this will be an annual vaccine just like the influenza vaccine. We have vaccines available for all ages. Spring Allergies Do your children suffer from spring allergies? If so, now is the time to think about starting those daily allergy medications. We see pollen counts in our area start to rise in March, and many of the allergy prevention medications may take at least 2 weeks to become effective. While medication can help relieve symptoms, they don’t stop the body’s immune response to allergens. Here are some other tips to minimize allergy symptoms:
1. Keep windows closed when counts are higher.
2. Rinse off or shower head-to-toe to remove pollen after spending time outdoors.
3. Use HEPA filters in air conditioners and furnaces.
4. Use dehumidifiers if the humidity in your home is over 50%. You can buy inexpensive humidity monitors to keep an eye on this number.
If you’d like to track pollen or mold counts in the area or be notified when there is a change in levels or types of allergens, you can go tohttps://pollen.aaaai.organd register to see the dashboard or receive an email notification when levels change. Monitor pollen and mold counts and stay indoors when counts are high.
RSV Prevention With Beyfortus/Nirsevimab We now have additional supply of this RSV antibody product for newborns and infants less than 8 months old. This is available at checkups and nurse visits at all locations, please call to schedule. An alternative for pregnant women is to get an RSV vaccine between 32 to 36 weeks of pregnancy.
