Fall Illnesses Are Arriving
With students returning to school we are seeing an increase in strep throat and covid cases in our offices. Symptoms are often very similar and include fever, sore throat, headache, stomach ache, and sometimes body aches. We want to remind everyone if your child has symptoms of either of these illnesses, we are happy to see you in the office for testing. You can also check out our
What's Going Around section

The Holidays are coming up quickly! We hope that your family are healthy over the holiday season. In case you need us, we’re here to help.
All offices are closed Thanksgiving Day, November 23.
We are available on the Wednesday before and the Friday after Thanksgiving to take care of your children. If you are stopping by the office to pick anything up please note that our Cold Spring will be closed Friday November 24.
As usual, all offices are closed on Sundays. This year that means we will be closed on Christmas Eve, December 24, Christmas Day December 25, New Year’s Eve December 31, and New Year’s Day January 1.
Remember we are available on Saturday November 25, December 23, and 30.
If you have an urgent need when we are not in the office, we will have a provider on call to talk to you and advise you how best to treat your child. We may close early some of the days between December 26 and 29 so please call early if you think you need an appointment

COVID Vaccines for Fall 2023
The new monovalent (one strain) vaccine is now available. This vaccine replaces the previous bivalent vaccine. We have the Moderna brand which is approved for ages 6 months and older. We expect that this will be an annual vaccine just like the influenza vaccine. For children 12 and over call to set up an appointment. For those 6 months to 11 years supply is limited so please call to be put on a waiting list and we will call you when we have this in stock. Please ask for Gina K when you call.

As pediatricians, we want to ensure that all our young patients have a safe and enjoyable Halloween. When preparing for this fun-filled night, remember to prioritize safety. First, choose costumes that are visible in the dark and don't obstruct movement or vision. Add reflective elements and consider using glow sticks or flashlights. Always accompany your child or ensure they are with a responsible adult while trick-or-treating. Stick to well-lit neighborhoods, and check all candy before consumption. Lastly, remind your children to never enter a stranger's home. Following these tips will help make Halloween a happy and safe experience for all.
